Workshop on Introduction to 3D Printing

About the Course

3D Printing is an Additive Manufacturing process which creates a physical object from a virtual 3D CAD model by depositing successive layers of material. You might have seen how the traditional printers work, however, in 3D printing - instead of ink, a molten material is deposited layer by layer to create an object from its digital format. This workshop on 3D Printing helps the participants understand the design, functioning and operation of a basic 3D Printer.

Incoming students get to learn about the entire activity flow of how a computer designed model finally gets converted into a real life 3D replica of the model - starting from using CAD software to design/tweak any pre-existing design, to tuning the 3D Printer for getting good quality prints and finally understanding the various aspects needed to know before starting any 3D Printing business/firm.

Eligibility

This workshop is open to anyone and everyone, having an interest in rapid prototyping. The workshop is intended for Grads, School Students, Designers and Hobbyists interested in learning the process of converting their digital 3D models into physical objects using a 3D printer.
